Proverbs 18:22

A man who finds a wife finds a good thing
    and obtains favor from the LORD.

-Proverbs 18:22-

This post is a challenge to men.  Do you recognize the truth of this verse in your life?  Do you view your wife as ”the ol’ ball and chain” or do you value her?  In this cynical age it is easy to compare, contrast, and cut down, but the truth is that your wife is yours and yours alone.  She cannot be compared to the wives of your buddies nor should you try.  She is the daughter of God, created in His image and likeness.  Are you treating her as such?

This verse states that your wife is good in your life and that she is evidence that God favors you.  No one is perfect, so don’t think she has to be in order to be considered a gift from God.  Today, why not take a minute and honor her as precious and special in your life and thank God for His favor?

Prayer Application

Father, thank You for Your grace and mercies everyday in the many provisions and gifts that You have and continue to give me though I am not nor could I ever be considered worthy of a single one.  While I rejoice in my salvation, today I want to praise You for putting Stefanie in my life.  Let me love and honor her as Your daughter and my wife.  Bless and encourage her in a special way today as she endeavors to fulfill her calling to be Your daughter, a mother, and my wife.
